2001年の第1回、ピアノ部門で優勝したジュゼッペ・アンダローロさん(イタリア出身)も、仙台(日本)に熱い想いを抱いている方のおひとりです。
ジュゼッペさんもメッセージを送ってくださいました。

Dear Sendai Audience,

Thank you so much for welcoming once again in our wonderful city of Sendai.
I say “our city” because I feel it is indeed “my” city too, as I have been coming to Sendai so often since 2001. Every time I come to Sendai is pure joy for me, it always remind me the incredible hard time it was during the competition in 2001, but definitely one of the most satisfying experience of my entire life.. It reminds me of my youth, as I was as young as 19-years-old, first time in Japan and first time in Asia. It was a start-up, a big door which I was about to open in that 2001, and from that year on, I have been coming to Japan 24/25 times (I can’t even count exactly, as it is so many times to beautiful Japan).

I feel like home, I’m extremely delighted to meet Sendai audience again. My promise this time, as always, is not just to show my appreciation for the audience, giving all I have to offer musically, but giving my entire heart while playing. Will give my best to move emotionally the audience, always with great respect and kind appreciation.

I will look forward to come again this time, and for the first time I will be coming with my wife Giulia and my little daughter Elena (she will be 9-months-old!), and can’t wait to show them the beauty of Asahigaoka Park 🙂 See you very soon, all the best to all Sendai people!

親愛なる仙台の皆さんへ

私たちの素敵な街、仙台に再び呼んでいただけてとても嬉しいです。

私が仙台を“私たちの街”と言うのには訳があります。2001年以来、頻繁に仙台を訪ねていますが、仙台は本当に“私の”街だと感じるのです。だからこそ、私は“私の街”と言うのです。仙台に来ることは、私にとって毎回が喜びであり、いつもあのとてつもなく大変だった2001年のコンクールのときのことを思い出します。だけど、間違いなく私の人生の中で最も満足のいく経験のひとつでした…当時19歳だった私の青春、初めての日本、初めてのアジアだったことを思い起こさせるのです。それはまさに、私が2001年に開こうとしていたスタートアップの大きなドアでしたし、そしてその年から24、5回も日本を訪ねているのです。(これまで何度訪日したか、正確には覚えていません。この素晴らしい日本に本当に何回も来ているのです！)

仙台での滞在はまるで家にいるように感じますし、仙台の聴衆の方々に再びお会いできることをとても光栄に思っています。今回もいつものように、皆さんに感謝の念を示すだけでなく、また技術的に素晴らしい音楽をお届けするのはもちろんですが、私の心からの演奏をお贈りすることをお約束します。敬愛と親愛の気持ちとともに、皆さんの心に響くよう最善を尽くします。

再び仙台を訪ねることを心待ちにしています。そして今回初めて、私の妻・ジュリアと小さな娘・エレナ(仙台に行く頃は9ヶ月です！) と一緒に行く予定です。彼らにあの美しい台原森林公園を見せるのが待ちきれませんJ
