WATANI Yasuoクロマチックハーモニカ

6歳よりハーモニカを始める。FIH ジャパン・ハーモニカ・コンテスト（クロマチック部門）で第１位を受賞。「日本ハ－モニカ賞」受賞。
　同志社大学商学部卒業後、ホーナー・コンセルヴァトリウム（トロッシンゲン市立音楽院）の招待留学生として渡独、H．ヘロルド氏に師事。英国の名手T．ライリー、H．ノートの各氏に師事。1987年第１回ワールド・ハーモニカ・チャンピオンシップス（ドイツ）で第２位に入賞。ラリー・アドラー氏に絶賛される。1988年国際ハーモニカ・コンクール（オランダ）第1位及び特別賞。1989年第2回ワールド・ハーモニカ・チャンピオンシップス第1位。京都市響、東京フィル、大阪フィル、新日本フィル、仙台フィル、新星日響、群馬交響楽団、九州交響楽団、ロイトリンゲン市響等と共演。1998年国際交流基金の派遣でアルゼンチン、ブラジル公演に参加。サイトウ・キネン・フェスティバル松本（1996年）、「東京の夏」音楽祭（1999年）、東京・春・音楽祭（2011年）に出演。従来のハーモニカの概念を塗り替える超絶技巧と音楽性は世界的な注目を集めている。1991年～2002年ホーナー・コンセルヴァトリウム主任講師。現在はソロ、室内楽奏者として活発な演奏活動を展開している。近年は、香港、シンガポール、ｍ台湾などに度々招かれ、マスタークラスやコンサートを開催する。1996年「村松賞」、1998年「京都府文化賞奨励賞」、「第6回バロックザール賞」受賞。2005年より洗足学園大学講師。
