2010年11月に行われた第65回ジュネーヴ国際コンクール〈ピアノ部門〉において、日本人として初めて優勝。年によって1位を出さないこの伝統あるコンクールでの8年ぶりの優勝は、各方面で大きな話題を集めた。
　広島県出身。第27回パルマドーロ国際コンクールにて史上最年少の13歳で第1位に輝く。広島音楽高等学校を卒業後、文化庁海外新進芸術家派遣員としてフランスに留学。パリ国立高等音楽院にてジャック・ルヴィエ、プリスカ・ブノワ両氏のもとで研鑽を積む。
同音楽院修士課程を首席で卒業し、パリ地方音楽院室内楽科にてイタマール・ゴラン、エリック・ル・サージュに師事した。2014年7月、モーツァルテウム音楽院を卒業。
　2011年、スイスのグシュタード・ニューイヤー・フェスティバル、ジュラ・フェスティバル、フランスのペリグー・ノワール・フェスティバルに招かれる。同年、パリのユネスコ本部でおこなわれた「東日本大震災復興支援チャリティコンサート」、ジュネーヴ国際コンクール入賞者のためのコンサート・ツアーでジュネーヴ、パリ、ミュンヘンで演奏し、その後チュービンゲンでのソロ・リサイタルを行った。
　国内では、NHK響、大阪フィル、群馬響、札幌響、新日本フィル、仙台フィル、中部フィル、東京響、東京フィル、名古屋フィル、日本センチュリー響、日本フィル、広島響、山形響、横浜シンフォニエッタといった国内主要オーケストラのほか、スイス・ロマンド管、南西ドイツ放送響、フィルハーモニア台湾、エル・システマ・ユース・オーケストラ・オブ・カラカスなどの国外オケとも共演を重ねている。2014年4月にはトヨタ・マスター・プレイヤーズ・ウィーンとも共演、好評を博した。
　現在パリを拠点に日本、フランス、スイス、ドイツ、イタリアなどでソリスト、室内楽奏者として演奏活動を行っている。
　これまでに高松和、田中美保子、小嶋素子、クラウディオ・ソアレス各氏に師事したほか、アンリ・バルダ、イェルク・デームス、ボリス・ペトルシャンスキー各氏らのマスタークラスも受講。
　1996、98年にフェニックス賞、メイプル賞、2001年にイタリア・フィナーレリグレ市より文化交流賞を受賞し、2011年には広島市民賞、ひろしまフェニックス賞特別賞、ミュージックペンクラブ・新人賞、第13回ホテルオークラ音楽賞、第22回新日鉄音楽賞 フレッシュアーティスト賞、第22回出光音楽賞、文化庁長官表彰（国際芸術部門）など多数受賞。
　2014年11月～12月には、全国各地でヴォーチェ弦楽四重奏団との初の日本ツアーを行い、2015年3月にはジュネーブのヴィクトリア・ホールでリサイタルが開催され、好評を博した。
