Irina MEJOUEVAピアノ

ロシアのゴーリキー（現ニジニー・ノヴゴロド）生まれ。５歳よりピアノを始め、モスクワのグネーシン特別音楽学校とグネーシン音楽大学（現ロシア音楽アカデミー）でウラジーミル・トロップ教授に師事。1992年ロッテルダム（オランダ）で開催された第4回エドゥアルド・フリプセ国際コンクールでの優勝をきっかけに、オランダ、ドイツ、フランスなどで公演を行う。1997年からは日本を本拠地として活動 を始め、東京文化会館小ホール、紀尾井ホール、浜離宮朝日ホール、トッパンホール、白寿ホールなどでリサイタルを開催。
バロック、古典派から近・現代にいたる作品まで幅広いレパートリーを手がけるが、近年再評価の進むロシアの作曲家ニコライ・メトネルの作品紹介にも力を入れており、2001年にはメトネル没後50年を記念したシリーズ「忘れられた調べ」（東京、ムジカーサ）でその主要作品を４夜にわたって取り上げ注目を集めた。2002年、スタインウェイ・ジャパン株式会社によるコンサートツアーを行う。2003年、サンクトペテルブルク放送交響楽団の日本ツアーにソリストとして登場したほか、2004年および2006年にはカルテット・イタリアーノと室内楽を共演。2005/06年のシーズンにはザ・シンフォニーホール（大阪）で４回にわたるリサイタル・シリーズ、2006年からは毎年京都でリサイタルを開くなど、 精力的な演奏活動を展開している。
これまでにロッテルダム・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、プラハ交響楽団、サンクトペテルブルク放送交響楽団、ゴーリキー・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ロシア・シンフォニーオーケストラ、日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、東京交響楽団、東京都交響楽団、読売日本交響楽団、神奈川フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、大阪センチュリー交響楽団、大阪交響楽団、兵庫芸術文化センター管弦楽団、テレマン室内管弦楽団、九州交響楽団、山形交響楽団、広島交響楽団、高雄市交響楽団（台湾）などと共演。
ＣＤ録音にも積極的で、デンオン（コロムビア）や若林工房などから多数のアルバムをリリース。「ショパン：ノクターン全集」（若林工房）は2010年度レコードアカデミー賞（器楽曲部門）に輝く。
2006年度青山音楽賞。第27回ミュージック・ペンクラブ音楽賞（クラシック部門、独奏独唱部門賞）受賞。

    ショパンの堂々たる大作「ピアノ･ソナタ 第3番」を、イリーナ･メジューエワが壮大に描く。
    有名なグリーグ「叙情小曲集」からは、はかなくも美しい旋律が印象的な「アリエッタ」、ゆりかごのようなリズムにやさしい旋律の「子守歌」、きらきらとした動きが連想させる「蝶々」、ノルウェーの美しい自然を讃える「春に寄す」の4曲。
