４才からピアノを始める。１９８４年ヴィオッティ・ヴァルセイジア国際音楽コンクールで第１位受賞。１９８５年、国立音楽大学に入学。翌１９８６年にブルガリア国立ソフィア音楽院に留学。１９８７年にアレクシス・ワイセンベルクの公開セミナーに参加し、ワイセンベルク本人の意向により設けられた最優秀特別賞を受賞、練習用のグランドピアノを授与された。１９９０年にマルサラ国際音楽コンクールにおいて第１位受賞。また同年、第１２回ショパン国際ピアノ・コンクールにおいて最優秀演奏賞（Honourable mention）を受賞。１９９２年、日本国際音楽コンクールにおいて第２位を受賞している。

 

１９９５年にサントリーホールにてデビュー・リサイタルを行い、同年ラムルー管弦楽団定期演奏会（佐渡裕指揮、サル・プレイエル）に招かれパリ・デビューを飾る。１９９７年よりミュージック・シェアリング（旧みどり教育財団）による「レクチャー・コンサート」でヴァイオリニスト五嶋みどりと全国各地の小学校、養護学校などで演奏。１９９８年、札幌PMF（パシフィック・ミュージック・フェスティバル）に出演。１９９９年のショパン没後１５０年には、「ショパンの旅」というタイトルのコンサート・ツアーを行ない３万５千人をも動員するショパン・イヤー最大規模のイベントとなった。２００２年６月ワイマール州立歌劇場管弦楽団の日本ツアーソリスト、２００３年７月にはＰＭＦオーケストラのソリストとして、２００４年には佐渡裕ヤング・ピープルズ・コンサートのゲストとして、全国各地で演奏。２００５年サントリーホールで行なわれた「デビュー１０周年記念コンサート」は満席となり大成功を収め、２００８年～２０１１年には東京・大阪での同時プロジェクト「及川浩治１０大協奏曲シリーズ」に取り組むなど人気・実力共に日本を代表するピアニストである。２０１５年２月にはテレビ朝日系列「題名のない音楽会」に出演し、ラフマニノフ「ピアノ協奏曲第３番」の熱演がオンエアされた。
国内主要オーケストラとの共演も数多く、２０１３年モスクワ・フィルハーモニー交響楽団、２０１４年ベルリン交響楽団、２０１５年ロシア国立交響楽団の各来日公演にてソリストとしてピアノ協奏曲を共演。２０１５年１１月にはブルガリアにてソフィア・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団定期演奏会に出演した。

 

ダイナミックな中に繊細さをも併せ持ち、内面にダイレクトに訴えかける及川の演奏は多くの絶賛の声とともに幅広い層の共感を得ている。児玉邦夫・幸子、吉本美南子、コンスタンティン・ガネフ、ジュリア・ガネヴァ、ジャン=マルク・ルイサダの各氏に師事。現在、宮城学院女子大学音楽科特任教授。
ＣＤはショパン、ベートーヴェン、リスト、ラフマニノフなどの作品集をリリースし、いずれも高い評価を受けており、『ベートーヴェン：悲愴、熱情、ワルトシュタイン』と『ショパン：バラード』は「レコード芸術」誌特選盤に選出されている。
